About the MS Melbourne Cycle

MS Melbourne Cycle is a perfect opportunity to get on your bike and show your support for people living with MS.

The Melbourne Cycle’s 50km ride is well regarded as the best way to prepare for your transition into bunch riding and the perfect course length for a challenging yet comfortable experience. The 25km short course is aimed at families to experience a leisurely alternative.

Cycle Event Details

Both the 25km and 50km course start at Alexandra Gardens and finish at Princes Park in Carlton, so a great way for everyone to get involved and help show your support for MS Australia.

Start Site: Alexandra Ave, Alexandra Gardens (Melway Ref: 2F J7)
25km Course: Start Time – 8.00am-8.30am
50km Course: Start Time – 7.00am-8.00am

The changes to the courses for 2013 are designed to

    • Reduce cyclists congestion through the Melbourne CBD, which has been address by a separate start and finish site.

Reduce the number of traffic lights and major intersections that cyclists travel through

  • Offer two route distances for cyclists, allowing both distance the view over the Westgate Bridge

 

The course starts at Alexandra with the event finishing at Princes Park where cyclists can take in the live entertainment and food stalls.

Brooks Spring into Shape Melbourne Series 2011

Spring is upon us and it’s time to look and feel sensational while saying goodbye to the winter blues – the cold early mornings, and insulating kilos!

Melbourne’s superior short-distance running and walking event, the Brooks Spring into Shape Series, will be held on Sunday, 18 September, Sunday, 23 October and Sunday, 27 November at Alexandra Gardens.

With the choice of a 4.2km run/walk, 8.4km run/walk, or 12.7km run, all ages and abilities can participate in this event, which is designed to challenge participants, as they take in some of Melbourne’s inner city beauty. PLUS, maintaining the same course and distances across the Series allows participants to increase and gauge their fitness levels during Spring, leading into an event filled Summer!

Event Entry Details

Race packs will not be sent out. They will be ready to pick up at the numbers pick up marquee on event day.

If you wish to enter the event on the day, they will be taking entries from 7.00am but make sure you arrive ealry to avoid the queues. Late fees also apply for on the day entries which are listed below.

Free Stuff

Series entrants score a FREE Brooks technical running T-shirt (RRP $70).
Race 1 entrants receive a free Brooks drawcord bag.
Race 2 entrants receive a free FLY Active running wrist pocket.
Race 3 entrants receive a free pair of Brooks socks.

If you bring four friends your entry is FREE, and you also go into the draw to WIN an overseas trip to Kokoda (RRP $5,890) or New Zealand (RRP $3,690), thanks to Stafford and Rowse.

Adults: EARLY- $80 LATE – $95 ON DAY – $98
Children U/15: EARLY- $60 LATE – $69 ON DAY – $72
Concession (Full-time student or health care cardholder): EARLY- $70 LATE – $79 ON DAY – $82

Single Race Entry Prices

Adults: EARLY- $30 LATE – $35 ON DAY – $38
Children U/15: EARLY- $20 LATE – $23 ON DAY – $26
Concession (Full-time student or health care cardholder): EARLY- $25 LATE – $30 ON DAY – $33

– No refunds. No dogs/bikes/rollerblades.
– Early entries close at 5pm Friday one week prior to each event.
– Online entries close at 9am the Friday prior to each event.
– Credit notes will only be issued if notified by 5pm Friday, one week prior to the event. A $10 administration fee will be deducted.
– As Series entrants receive a free Brooks technical T-shirt, no credit notes will be issued for series entrants.

Become a Volunteer

You don’t have to be a runner or walker to be part of the Brooks Spring Into Shape Series. You can join in the event as a volunteer, undertaking roles in areas such as:
