The 2011 Melbourne Marathon Festival, VICTORIA

Melbourne, Victoria
Sunday 9th October, 2011

Are you looking to participate in an upcoming fun run, walk, ride or charity event in Melbourne?

Registration for one of Melbourne’s main fun run events of the year has just been opened for 2011.
The 2011 Melbourne Marathon Festival will be sponsored by The Bank of Melbourne this year as they help support this iconic Melbourne running Festival which has been run each year since 1978.

2010 saw a number of records set with both the male and female marathon race records broken as well as the Melbourne Marathon establishing itself as the largest marathon by finishers in Australia, and this year will hopefully be another great race that everyone should attend.

In previous years the finish line has been a final lap of the MCG but with the 2011 AFL Grand Final concluding one week later than usual and having to plan for the possibility of a replay as well as start preparations for the cricket season the MCG will not be able to accommodate the Bank of Melbourne Marathon Festival for 2011 but the festival does plan to finish at the MCG again next year in 2012.
