    If you are looking to participate in an upcoming charity event in Melbourne, then come and support Down Syndrome Awareness Week at Princes Park in Carlton.

    Buddy Walk is an international walk-a-thon style event aimed at raising funds for and awareness of Down syndrome.
    There are 13 walks being held across Australia in 2011, with most walks coinciding with Down Syndrome Awareness Week.

    Buddy Walk Event Details

    Buddy Walk is an international walk-a-thon style event aimed at raising funds for Down Syndrome Victoria and awareness of Down syndrome. The walk itself is an easy walk suitable for people of all ages and fitness levels.

    There are more than 260 Buddy Walks around the world. In Australia, the walks coincide with Down Syndrome Awareness Week during October.

    Where: Princess Park, Carlton
    Registration Check In: 8.30am
    Start Time: 10.00am
    Distance: 3.2km

    Registration to take part in the walk is $5 per adult (persons aged 17 and under are free).

    With great entertainment for people of all ages and entry free for kids, this event is more than just another fundraising event, it’s a great family day out!

    Buddy Walk brings together people with Down syndrome and their invited ‘buddies’ – everyone from friends and family to teachers, politicians and co-workers – to promote acceptance and inclusion of people with Down syndrome within the community.

    Down Syndrome Victoria works to empower individuals with Down syndrome for a lifetime of meaningful inclusion in the community. Down Syndrome Victoria can provide parents, families and friends of children and adults with Down syndrome with support, encouragement, information and resources.
